Many Sundays, I say something like "in the end, we're not really all that
special. We're just people who have found hope and joy in this world, so we
get together to celebrate, and to encourage each other."
The world can be both a wonderful, exciting, exhilerating place, and a painful,
broken, lonely place. We often live with one foot in both places - we have much
to celebrate, and much to mourn. We have great reason to laugh with each other,
and we have great reason to hold each other close.
Mostly, we have a great God who loves us and desires to walk closely with us.
So we, as a church, work hard at cultivating a close connection to our God. We
also desire to share the knowledge of God with those around us.
There's a lot going on around our Church, so poke around a bit and see if
anything catches your interest. Just know that you are always welcome - here
and in the real world.
